Adam Joe Doublehead was born on May 26, 1941 in Stilwell, OKlahoma to Sam Joe and Adeline (Bunch) Doublehead. He went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 16, 2021 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 20 days.
Adam attended school at Zion and Stilwell. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Adam married the love of his life, Pat Cochran on February 4, 1972 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. They were always together. Adam worked in construction and was an industrial worker until he retired. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for many years until his health failed him. Adam was a Cherokee First Speaker. Adam's hobbies included watching the news or any kind of sport, especially OU football. When he was younger he played softball where he was the pitcher. Adam also enjoyed spending time with family and his favorite was "Shiny", his great granddaughter Layla Shyne. She lit up his eyes.
Adam is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Adeline Doublehead, his wife Pat, one son Marland Hogner, four sisters Janana Daugherty, Lydia Young, Emmaline Teehee and Dorthy Gonzales, three brothers Denton, Hiner and Charlie Doublehead.
Adam is survived by his daughter Joie Doublehead and son David Hogner both of Stilwell; grandchildren Tiffany Campbell, Christian and Marley Smith, Taumi and Brent Hogner, April Dickson, Kyp Hummingbird and Kyron Gonzales; 8 great grandchildren; one sister Carolyn Claphan and one brother John Doublehead both of Stilwell and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
