Barbara Harris

Barbara Oleta Harris daughter of Claude and Ruth Ellen (Dilbeck) Gray was born January 3, 1918 in Asher, OK and departed this life on November 20, 2015 in Stilwell, OK surrounded by loved ones at the age of 97 years.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed the duties that followed her role of being a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She loved to sew, crochet, embroidery, arts & crafts, ceramics and was very musically inclined and would sing and play music often. While living in the Bunch community she was a granny to the neighborhood kids and a beautician to many by giving perms and haircuts to her neighbors. She was a proud member of the VFW Ladies Auxillery Post 3698 and American Legion Ladies Auxillery Post 104.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; William Edward Harris, sons; Raymond Edward Harris and William Thomas Harris, siblings; Edwin Jackson, Viola Harris, Mildred January, Ray Jackson, Jewel Mason, Estha Dixon, Euell Jackson, Floyd Jackson and 1 infant sister.

She is survived by a very loving family that includes her children; Oleta Lyons and husband Burl, Margaret Ann Phipps, Minnie Convirs and husband Dean, Ruth Carlson, Marjorie Fox and husband Arthur, Wanda Moorehead, Shirley Latta and husband Perry, Richard Harris and wife Patsy, James Harris and wife Diana, Loyd Harris and wife Lynne, Corinna Vanderheiden and husband Dean, Colleen Brown and husband Allen, William "Buddy" Harris and wife Meda; 58 grandchildren, 147 great grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren, 2 siblings; Mable Victory of Coweta and Billy Jackson and wife Bobbie of Kinta, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends also survive her.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Molly Fields Cemetery with Bro. Dean Vanderheiden officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
