Charles Kenneth Girdner was born March 25, 1940, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, to Shelby and Myrtle Pack Girdner. He departed this life July 30, 2014, at his home in Stilwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 5 days.
Charles was a lifelong resident of Stilwell, graduating from Cave Springs High School. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1970. He was married to Nancy Eads on February 8, 1981, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Charles was a bull rider in his younger days. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and listening to gospel music.
His parents, Shelby and Myrtle Girdner both preceded him in death. His surviving family includes, his wife of 33 years, Nancy Girdner, of the home one daughter, Tienya Kelsey, of Stilwell two sons, Shelby Gene Girdner, of Georgia and Cory Girdner, of the home three stepchildren, Brenda Vann, of Louisville, AL, Bryan Potter, of Peggs and Barbara Hatfield, of Proctor two sisters, Mary Wheeler and Bertha Ketcher and one brother, Jerry Girdner, all of Stilwell four grandchildren, three step grandchildren and one great grandchild. Many other relative, friends and loved ones also survive him.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014, at Bunch Cemetery with Bro. Jim Sanders officiating. Final arrangements were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
