A TIME TO REMEMBER
David Allen Keys, Sr., passed from this Life to Everlasting when he took God by the hand at the beautiful Gates of Heaven on October 15, 2017. We know he is now at home in God's arms.
David was the only child born to Charlene White and Lonnie Earl Parlor on November 21, 1967. He accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He grew up in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and attended Tahlequah Public Schools. He played football at Tahlequah High School where he later graduated. He attended Lamar State College in Port Arthur, Texas where he earned a certificate in Basic Diesel Engine Repair. At the time of his passing, he was an employee at Cherokee Nation Hospital.
He loved his family and had a genuine love for all of his children and was very proud of them. He liked "tinkering" and working on cars but not many of them ever drove quite the same again. He liked showing off his BBQ skills for special family occasions that he truly loved. If he ran out of charcoal fluid, no problem---he just used gasoline. He enjoyed helping those who needed help with no questions asked. He was affectionately known as "Bow" by his mother and "crazy Dave" and "Fantasy" by his cousins.
David has gone home to join those family members who have transitioned on before him. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, who raised him, Mary Keys and grandfather, George Keys, Sr.; father, Lonnie Earl Parlor; grandfather, Denver Parlor; grandmother, Maxine (Silas) Parlor. His beautiful memory will be cherished by his loving family, his mother, Charlene White of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and step-father, Bob Swepston of Stilwell, Oklahoma; his children, Candace and Cameron of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; David, Jr., Destiny, Davionte, Tristin, Trae, Shaylynn and Bryley of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Mya and Aria of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a hosts of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
David was lovingly raised in the home with many of his aunts, uncle and cousins that include; Shirley Ray, Sandra Todd and Norma Keys of Tulsa Oklahoma; Deborah Keys of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Pamela Lesane of Valdosta, Georgia; Gwen Keys of Kansas City, Missouri; Carla Kercheval of Shreveport, Louisiana; Doreatha Edmundson of San Diego, California; Tammy Becknell of Stone Mountain, Georgia; his cousins; John Mark Keys, Corey Gandy, Deshaun Walker, Leemon Peterson, Antwaun Todd, Christopher Todd, Micah Todd, Jarel Todd, Matthew Kercheval, Alicia Gandy, DaSheika Ray, Cameron Foster and Kayla McCllelan; a very special cousin, Marilyn McDowell of Tahlequah;his uncle, Leroy Keys and cousins: Jacqueline Keys and Anthony Gandy, who preceded him in death; David loved life and lived each day to its fullest. Just because he has departed this life does not mean it is the end; he will live on in his children and grandchildren. His absence will leave a huge ache in all of our hearts but our love for him will live on forever until we see him again.
Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day; unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear. All the cherished memories we have for David will never fade. Rest in Eternity, David Allen Keys, Sr. We Will Always Love You.
