Della Mae Deason, the daughter of Jesse James and Ina Victoria (Clinton) O'Neal, was born April 6, 1928, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She passed away January 25, 2016 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 87.
Della was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma. She attended school at Rabbit Trap until the 8th grade and then began working in the fields raising watermelons, corn, green beans and strawberries.
She was married to Burl Franklin Deason on December 24, 1951 in Van Buren, Arkansas and their union was blessed with two sons, Burl Wesley and Richard Leon.
Della retired from Stilwell Memorial Hospital after 25 years of faithful service as a housekeeping supervisor. She was a faithful member of Spade Mountain Holiness Church. She liked quilting, sewing, crocheting and loved to can vegetables and fruits. Della also enjoyed Sunday dinners with her family.
Those preceding her in death include, her husband, Burl, her parents, Jesse & Victoria O'Neal, four brothers, Frank, Walter, George and James, three sisters, Ruby, Maxine and Polly Jane and daughter-in-law, Alice Faye Deason.
She leaves behind a loving family which includes, her sons, Burl Wesley Deason and Richard Leon Deason, both of Stilwell; sister, Florene Gass, of Stilwell; granddaughters, Deanna Deason, of Stilwell, Sonya Hart and husband, Willie, of Proctor; great grandsons, Cross Deason and Frank Deason; great granddaughters, Ali Hart, Polly Hart, Veronica Wilson, Amber Wilson and Elaina Wilson and a host of friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Spade Mountain Holiness Church with Bro. Olin Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at Spade Mountain Cemetery under the care of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
