Ella Daugherty

Ella Mae Daugherty, the daughter of George and Sapriona Vann Glass, was born January 31, 1940, in Adair County, Oklahoma. She went home to be with the Lord on August 30, 2014, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 29 days.

Ella Mae was married to Gene Daugherty on August 29, 1966, in Stilwell. She worked as a store clerk at EZ Mart for many years.

Ella Mae was a member of Chuculate Baptist Church where she served as the church secretary for several years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved sewing, flowers and going to flea markets and yard sales with her great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sapriona Glass, her husband, Gene Daugherty, who died November 10, 2011, one brother, George Redbird Glass Jr. and one sister, Peggy Glass Lutz.

Her surviving family includes, her children, Margie and Steve Long, Marlene and James Ballard, Monroe Workman, all of Stilwell and Carol Hall, of Versailles, KY siblings, Viola Fourkiller, of Stilwell, Jimmy and Virginia Glass, of Fayetteville, AR, Florene Smith, of Stilwell, Mike and Dana Glass, of Stilwell five grandchildren, Stephanie and Scott Ogden, Lucian Jr. and Lana Warrior, Whitney Warrior, Hannah Hall and Callaway Hall one great granddaughter, Jeri Ogden two aunts, Ada Watie and Leona Bird, of Stilwell and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Chuculate Baptist Church with Bro. Chuck Glass and Bro. Donnie Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
