Emma Holmes

Emma Lena (Sanders) Holmes was born August 21, 1942 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Jim and Ruby (Smith) Sanders. She went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2021 in Bunch, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 3 days.

Emma was a hard worker and worked fast at everything she did. She enjoyed cooking, loved canning fruits and vegetables, doing word cross puzzles, listening to gospel Cherokee songs and being with her family and grandkids.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike Holmes, brothers Lloyd, Louie, Roy and Eddie Sanders and one sister Lenora Guthrie.

She is survived by a very loving family that includes her children Shirley and Bryce Ketcher, Mitchell Holmes, Michael Holmes, all of Bunch, OK Bob and Diane Holmes of Cookson, OK; sister Valerie Sevenstar; aunt Francis Volkmann of Claremore, OK; sisters-in-law Eda Scraper of Welling, OK and Ida Scott of Tulsa, OK. Nine Grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive her.
