Farris Edwin Gaches the son of Boyd and Pearl (Buster) Gaches was born on May 12, 1937, in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on November 20, 2020, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 8 days.
Farris enjoyed life and was a hardworking man. He was a carpenter by trade and dairy farmer by choice. He loved his farm and enjoyed working with his cattle. He built anything and everything, and built a good number of houses and other things in Stilwell. He owned the Stilwell Cafe' for many years and enjoyed sitting around drinking coffee and telling stories. In his later years the tire shop is where he would go to hang out and tell his stories. He never went anywhere without his Juicy Fruit gum, although he didn't chew much. His family meant a lot to him, and he enjoyed spending time with them all. Farris touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Shirley Gaches; his sons Darrell Edwin Gaches, Ricky Wayne Gaches, and William Boyd Gaches; his sisters Ruby Adams, Frances Maxine Wolf, and Kathleen Cowan; and his brother Bobby Charles Gaches.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his daughter Kathy Sellers of Braggs; his son Tracy Hoover and wife Shelly of Collinsville; his sisters Joyce Wolf and husband Harlen of Stilwell and Edna Ruth Anderson of Stilwell; his sister-in-law Pearl Gaches of Christie; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
