Fern Shaddox

October 17, 1930 — February 26, 2015

Fern Ruth Welch was born October 17, 1930, in Summers, Arkansas. Her parents, Bruce and Zeta Jackson Welch, lived in Adair County until their move to Stockton, California, where Fern attended elementary school.
After moving back to Oklahoma, she graduated Westville High School. According to Fern, her childhood was a happy one. She was a lively, beautiful teen.
Fern married Bob J. Hall, and their first child, Damon Renee, was born while he attended OU on the GI Bill. Two years later Pamela Gaylene joined the family. After graduation, they moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon, where Bob's mother Mary and other relatives lived and worked.
She and Bob gave their hearts and lives to Jesus in January, 1953.
A third daughter, Cynthia Delight, came the next year. Fern had her hands full with three young daughters, as well as the work she and Bob put into witnessing and helping grow their church. They witnessed many miracles.
In 1955 they moved back to Stilwell, living in the Zion and Maryetta communities before building a house in Oak Grove. Fern and Bob established Faith Tabernacle, a church grown out of outreach to older people unable to read the Bible for themselves.
David Matthew was born in 1962.
Bob and Fern enjoyed marriage for 46 years until his passing in 1995.
In 2001 Fern married a long-time friend, Ken Shaddox, who fit right into the family. They spent their time between his home in Tahlequah and hers in Oak Grove, until her illness and death on February 26.
Her parents Bruce and Zeta, husband Bob, half-brother Gene Simpson, and granddaughter Mendi Eagleton preceded her in death.
She is survived by husband Ken, daughters Damon Hall, Pam Eagleton (Larry), Cindy Crozier (Charles), and son David. She leaves five grandchildren: Robin Hart, Amy Jo Eagleton, Courtney Blisard (Rex), Cory Crozier (Amanda), and David Greyson Hall. She also leaves a nephew, Marvin Simpson, step-daughter Margie Clemons (Roger), step-son Troy Shaddox (Susie), and Troy's children, Grace and Sam.
Fern took great joy in her 16 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and her church family.
She was a woman of love and prayer.
