George Edward Vardeman the son of Harry and Hiawatha (Kieth) Vardeman, AKA "Geronimo" to his friends, was born July 8, 1946 in Dewey, Oklahoma and departed this life on May 9, 2017 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 1 day.

George was ornery to the core and could be chiding and belligerent at times, but once he was your friend, he was loyal and devoted. George enjoyed OU football, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. He lived his life by his own rules, so that when he looked in the mirror he could be happy with the man staring back at him. No matter what, he was the best father and protector a boy could ever have. He may have had no material things but he never held back his love. George was a man of no half measures, you either hated or loved him but in the end, mostly love.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Danny Vardeman and Buddy Vardeman; and his sister Beverly Goodwin.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his son Jade Vardeman of Stilwell; his brothers Tom Vardeman and wife Virginia of Stilwell, Jack Vardeman and wife Katy of Bartlesville, Robert Vardeman and wife Shirley of Claremore and Joe Vardeman and wife Kim of Stilwell; and a beloved ex-wife, devoted friend and mother of his son, Margaret Vardeman of San Antonio, his stepchildren whom he raised as his own, Regina Marshall, Vell Vardeman and Stacey Scott and grandsons, Everett Marshall and Cobe Trees. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
