Harold Dillard

Harold Junior Dillard, 72, beloved husband, brother, father and papaw, departed this world on October 28, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Junior, as he was called by family and friends, was born on June 25, 1942, in Vian, Oklahoma.

He married his childhood sweetheart, Carolyn Holt Dillard on June 4, 1959, and together they built a life and a family in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Junior was exceptionally hardworking and took joy in a job well done. He could often be found in his garage, fixing one thing or another. He worked at Stilwell Foods for several decades before becoming the security guard at Stilwell Memorial Hospital. he held this position for many years until he was diagnosed with cancer in 2006.

Junior did not let cancer stop him from living and enjoying life. He fought hard to survive, and he continued to pursue his interests and support his family through resourceful enterprises. He could often be seen around town picking up cans, having yard sales, and searching for trash that he could turn into treasure. Even in tough times, Junior always found a way to give his family what they needed.

He loved to laugh and make others laugh by doing funny impressions. He was a huge Elvis fan, and he enjoyed traveling to Graceland whenever he got the chance. He was also an avid collector of many things like arrow heads, coins, and cats. He loved people and animals. He would joyfully give his time and energy to help others, and he would never let a stray animal go hungry. Junior will be greatly missed, but he will remain forever in the hearts of his loved ones.

Junior is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Dillard, his four sisters, Betty Libby, Geraldine Vinson and husband, Bill, Jessie Barnard and husband, Jerry, and Shirley Green his three daughters, Cathy Unger and husband, Ed, Lisa Bradford and husband, Tom Charles, and Donna Ledford his many grandchildren, Kelley ONeal, Brandon Dillard, Holly Crittenden Vanderheiden, Brittany Crittenden, Tommy Bradford, Cassie Bradford, Tina Unger Fain, and Kyla Unger and his great grandchildren, Andrew Corley, Little Brandon Dillard, Tayven Unger, Chloe Vanderheiden, Attysen Fain, and Willow Cox, as well as two unborn greatgrandchildren, Emma June Vanderheiden and DeeCaroline Fain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Columbus Dillard and Izora Davis Dillard, his inlaws, Clealus Rutherford Holt and Lester Price Holt, as well as his granddaughter, Presley Charles and his greatgranddaughter, KyLee Fain.
