Howard Wayne Eller, the son of Troy Herbert and Lena Mae Johnson Eller, was born October 25, 1930, in Chance, Oklahoma. He passed from this life July 30, 2014, at the Veterans Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 5 days.
Howard enlisted into the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and was stationed in Germany as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War. He was also stationed in Colorado as a radio operator. After his discharge, Howard moved to Herlong, California and served his community as a police officer for two years. At that time, he moved back to Oklahoma and began his career as a truck driver, driving for the next 33 years, retiring in 1990.
After retiring, he enjoyed gardening, traveling with his dogs and daily visits to the coffee shop in Westville. He was a friend with all he knew. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always available to them for whatever they needed. He will be greatly missed by all his loved ones.
Those preceding Howard in death include, his parents, Troy and Lena Eller, two children, David Wayne Eller and Connie Jean Decker and one sister, Bertha Kirby.
He leaves behind a loving family which includes, his children, Brenda and Kenny Meridith, of Westville, Doug and Cathy Eller, of Batesville, AR and Howard Lee Eller, of Reno, NV one sister, Dottie Hatfield, of Drumore, PA grandchildren, Summer and Kevin Tolbee, of Tahlequah, Lewis Summers, of Westville, Winter and Mike Kiddy, of Westville, Leonard and Roxanna Summers, of Colcord, Autumn Summers, of Westville, Spring and Kolton Holmes, of Westville, Lloyd Summers, of Colcord, Rebecca Summers, of Westville and Amanda Ingram, of Tahlequah great grandchildren, Liz, Abby, Mercedes, Mandy, Taylor, Favy, Adrian, Ally, Hayden, Gary, Mandy, Kolbi and Breana. Numerous other family and friends also survive him.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Johnson Cemetery in West Siloam Springs, OK with Bro. Jim Beavers officiating. Final arrangements were entrusted to Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
