Jennings Bryan Raleigh, passed away on December 15, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 94. Born on June 5, 1929, in LeFlore, Oklahoma, he was the cherished son of James Raleigh and Irene McCann.
Jennings was a man of many passions and endeared himself to everyone he met. With a deep love for the outdoors, he spent many blissful hours as an avid fisherman, relishing the serene beauty of nature. His loyal and affectionate nature extended beyond humans, as he found great companionship in his dogs throughout his life.
Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Jennings possessed an unparalleled ability to connect with others. He never met a stranger, effortlessly engaging people from all walks of life with his charm and infectious laughter. His warm presence and memorable conversations left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
In his younger years, Jennings served his country with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Air Force during the 1950s. His dedication to his nation and steadfast commitment to serving others shaped his character and earned him the respect of his peers.
Jennings is preceded in death by his parents, James and Irene, as well as his brothers Jacob Raleigh and Paul Raleigh, and his sisters Marilyn Keith, and Sylvia McFall. He also deeply mourned the loss of his daughter, Shirley Gregory, and his son, Basil Raleigh.
He is survived by his loving children: Phyllis Estrada and her husband, Angel, Deborah Brewer and her husband, Boyd, and Bill Raleigh and his wife, Loretta. Additionally, Jennings is survived by his dear brother, Earl Raleigh, his sisters, Elizabeth Loosier, and Bonnie Turner and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Their cherished memories of Jennings will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
A public viewing to honor the life and legacy of Jennings Bryan Raleigh is scheduled to take place on December 21, 2023, at 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, with family present from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hart Funeral Home in Stilwell, Oklahoma.
Jennings will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His genuine kindness, unwavering positivity, and remarkable ability to bring joy to others will forever be treasured memories.
