Leona "Sue" Kellar the daughter of Luther Ambrose "Luke" and Olie "Mable" Anderson Thomas was born November 13, 1947, in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on December 20, 2022, in Kellyville, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years,1 month and 7 days.
She loved life, nature and God's creation.Spring and Summer was her favorite time of the year. She looked forward to going "down home" to see her family during the Strawberry Festival and spending a week camping at the lake. In her youth, she enjoyed fishing, swimming, walking the nature trails, campfires and whistling at the whippoorwills. She collected and loved butterflies and sunflowers. She used to catch fireflies and loved making bracelets and rings out of them for her daughters when they were young. She enjoyed working in her garden every summer. She liked canning her own vegetables and making jam. Sandhill plum jelly was her favorite.
She was very creative, she enjoyed crafting, acrylic painting, sewing and baking. She always had some kind of project going. She enjoyed dancing and singing to her old records while cleaning house and cooking meals. Holidays were always very festive at the Kellar home. She would go all out in the kitchen, especially during the holidays. She would make every pie imaginable. She made rum cake and homemade eggnog every year on Christmas Day. She made sure every holiday was memorable. She loved any time where family and friends could be together. Shortly after the loss of her husband, she lost her vision. This did not stop her from doing the things she enjoyed. She adjusted well and found ways to continue doing what she loved.
In her more recent years she would spend her time listening to audiobooks by her favorite authors, she still loved to hum and sing to her old country and gospel music, while rocking in her rocking chair. She looked forward to her daily phone calls to chat with family and friends, and going to the family reunion each year. This kept her feeling close to the ones she loved no matter the distance.
She was preceded in death by her parents Luke and Mable Thomas; her husband Loy Kellar Sr; her daughter Tammy Roesner; her son Loy Kellar Jr; and her brother Leon Thomas, Otis Thomas, and Luther Thomas; her boyfriend of 10 years William Knight.
