Lester Turner

Lester Columbus Turner, age 88, of Stilwell, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at his home in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Hungry Mountain Cemetery with Bill Matthews officiating under the direction of the Hart Funeral Home in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

Lester Columbus Turner was born March 3, 1935 in Cherokee County to Donnie L. and Clara (Day) Turner. He grew up in Tailholt and attended the Willis School and Tahlequah High School. In 1954 Lester married Viola Scott and the couple made their home in Tulsa until moving to Wauhillau. Viola preceded him in death on March 11, 2020. Lester worked at Oklahoma Tire Supply and Local Union #64 Insulators. He was a farmer, rancher and raised strawberries and whatever else that needed to be done.

Survivors include two children Russell and wife Teresa Lynn Turner of Wauhillau, Charlene and husband Mike Kimble of Hungry Mountain; three grandchildren Pamela Riggin, Charles and wife Lisa Kimble, Stacy and husband Jeremy Eubanks; five great grandchildren, Shade, Kanton, Paisleigh, Sage and Tate; one brother Carl Turner of Bunch and one sister Louella Johnson of Owasso.

He was preceded in death by his wife Viola, parents, three brothers Delbert, Vonnie and Preston; three sisters Pauline, Mildred and Shirley; one grandson Kevin Kimble.
