Lizzie Farmer

Funeral services for Lizzie Rose Farmer will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Hart Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.

Lizzie Rose Farmer, the daughter of Stephen and Rosa (Charles) Williams, was born April 3, 1943 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on March 2, 2018 in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the age of 74 years.

Lizzie enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go camping, fishing, and hunting. She enjoyed music and loved listening to her favorite songs. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Lizzie started out her professional career as an accomplished partner with a successful construction company she helped manage with her husband, running the office and managing the books for over 20 years. After her work in Albuquerque, Lizzie trained and transitioned her career into the rewarding work of being a healthcare professional. She touched many lives over the years including the care she gave to her patients during her 24 years of service through her work at both the local nursing home and hospital. She will be dearly missed by all those who were blessed to know her and who were loved by her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Rachel Sidebottom, Nona Vann, and Vennie Williams; and her granddaughter Mazzy Kaya Williams.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her husband of 55 years Alfred P. Farmer; her children Tim Farmer and wife Cheryl of Cimarron, New Mexico, and Selina M. Farmer and husband Shane Williams of Manassas, Virginia; her sisters Jessie Jackson, Juanita Arnold, and Wanda Farrington all of Stilwell, Oklahoma; her brother John Williams also of Stilwell, Oklahoma; and 3 grandchildren, Amanda Farmer and Catherine Farmer of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Veronica Farmer of Cimarron, New Mexico. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
