Mack Barker, son of Jasper Francis Barker and Sarah (Henson) Barker, was born May 18, 1931, in Quinton, Oklahoma, and passed from this life February 28, 2016, in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years.
Mack was a member of the Choctaw Nation. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. He met the love of his life, Shirley Barker, while living in California. They married and moved to Stilwell in the mid 70's. Mack worked in offshore drilling for many years, working in countries around the world.
He later became a truck driver until his retirement. Mack loved to fish. He also enjoyed watching old westerns and OU football, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Sarah Barker; wife, Shirley Barker; siblings, Aldred Barker, Barbara Marie Bryant, Brack Barker, Mildred Brazel, Wallace Barker and Ethel Hill; and daughter, Connie Horn.
Mack is survived by sons, Gary Barker and Bobby Ellis of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Shawna Ellis of Stilwell; grandsons, Steven Ellis and wife Leanna of Stilwell; and Chad Barker and wife Sherri of Lineville, Iowa; great grandchildren, Zach Ellis, Devon Ellis, Hailee Ellis, K.J. Ross, Kelsey Ross, Emily Walker, Aaron White, Kane Mack Barker, Cayley McKay Barker, Hayley Sample, Emily Sample & Austin Nix and a special niece, Marilyn Moreno. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive him.
Graveside services will be held at Honey Hill Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Glenn Hopkins officiating. Burial is under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
