Marie Richey

Marie Flora (Hurkes) Richey the daughter of Thomas T. and Harriett (Bluedog) Hurkes was born August 7, 1958 in Bismark, North Dakota and departed this life on March 12, 2017 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years, 7 months and 5 days.

Marie was a loving and caring lady who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved her children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed being outside and loved working in the flower garden. Marie touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Brent Richey and his fiance Seana Anderson; and her brothers Phillip Hurkes and Dennis Hurkes.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Brian Richey and fiance Annie Broyles of Huntsville, AR, Wendell Decoteau of Stilwell, and Carmela Richey and fiance Travis Philpott of Stilwell; her boyfriend, Charles McKown; her sisters Gloria Hurkes of Pine Ridge, SD, Karen Zidzick of Panama City, FL, Caroline Hurkes of Mandan, ND, and Margie "Muggs" Hurkes of Bismarck, ND; her brother Dewayne Hurkes of Bismarck, ND; 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.


Memorial services will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Brian Kester officiating. Final arrangements were entrusted to the care of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
