Martha "Lois" Ison

Martha Lois Ison, passed away on May 5, 2024 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She was lovingly attended at the time of her death by her niece Trena Hodges at the home of her other niece, Lanada Hickerson. Lois was born on March 13, 1932 in Scioto County, Ohio, to John and Stella Kennedy. Lois spent years as a legal secretary to her brother William Kennedy, and followed with a career in Social Work for the State of Ohio. She married Ralph Ison in 1976 found joy in her marriage, tending her garden, watching movies, and exploring new destinations.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Ralph Ison, as well as her brothers Oakley, Huxley, Morton, Jim, and sisters Eula Marie and Mary Lou.

She will be forever remembered by her brother, William Kennedy, her loving niece and caregiver, Lanada Hickerson and husband Elzie B Hickerson and step-daughter, Stacy Matthews and family, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by her kindness.

A family viewing to honor Lois's life will be held at Hart Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK on May 8th, 2024, at 3:00 pm and at Tracy Brammer Monroe Funeral Home in Ironton, Ohio, Friday May 17th from 5pm till 7pm. The funeral and burial services will take place on May 18th, 2024 at noon at Woodland Cemetery. Martha's compassionate spirit and warm presence and feisty nature will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace
