Maxie W. Nofire, the son of Jerry and Louise Pritchett Nofire, was born August 24, 1959, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He passed from this life October 7, 2014, at Stilwell Memorial Hospital at the age of 55 years, 1 month and 13 days.
Maxie attended Bell School and grew up playing outdoors, shooting squirrels and playing softball with his family. He enjoyed reading Louis Lmour westerns, listening to George Jones and truly enjoyed spending time with his children. Maxie was a poultry worker and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Nofire, one brother, Gary Nofire, a sister, Janice White, paternal grandparents, Robert and Unabelle Nofire, maternal grandparents, Columbus and Nancy Pritchett.
He leaves behind, his father, Jerry Nofire, of Stilwell his children, Clarissa and Marcus Thompson, DeAnna Nofire, Delana and Brandon Clayton, all of Tahlequah, Rayna and Cole Hogner, of Park Hill, Jonathan Nofire, of Claremore, Jacob Nofire, of Siloam Springs, AR, Lorraine Nofire, Beth Nofire and Max Nofire, all of Tahlequah stepchildren, Wesley Nofire and Jayma Nofire, of Stilwell brothers, Eugene and Betty Nofire, Junior and Frances Nofire, of Stilwell sisters, Pauline and Jim Livers, Eva and Andrew Cochran, Norma Cochran and Roger Clinton, Lavonna and Thurman Scott, Rose and Jerry Cochran, all of Stilwell, 21 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Levi Eagle officiating. Interment will follow at Nofire Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
