Micheal Hawkins

Micheal Brody Hawkins, 25, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on September 22, 2014. He was born to Deborah K. BlackbearHawkins and Perry G. Hawkins at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 23, 1989. He was the youngest of two children born to this union.

When Micheal was a baby he and his family moved to Portland, Oregon where he began school and graduated from Chemawa Indian High School in Salem, Oregon with honors. He continued his education at Anathem College and at Talking Leaves Job Corp Center in Tahlequah, Oklahoma after returning to Oklahoma.

Micheal worked for UHaul International before deciding to pursue a career as a certified medical assistant. Micheal received many awards including, Honor roll, Student of the Month, Presidents Award for Educational Excellence, Daughters of American Revolution Scholarship winner, Youth Appreciation Award for Optimist Club of Salem and additional performing arts awards. He enjoyed reading, movies and playing video games. He also enjoyed attending New Life Worship Center in Tahlequah.

Micheal was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lilly Mae Eads maternal grandfather, Lambert Blackbear paternal grandmother, Jo Ann Hummingbird Hawkins.

He is survived by his mother, Debra K. Blackbear his father, Perry G. Hawkins his brother, Christopher J. Hawkins his grandfather, Robert H. Hawkins his aunts and uncles, Pamela Ann and Tim Burton, Robby and Beverly Hawkins, Anna Eads and Charles W. Morgan III, Sharon and Lawney Alton, Patrick J. Hawkins, A. Jason Hawkins his niece, April Marie and nephew, Aaron Jason and the rest of his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014, at New Life Church of Stilwell, with Pastor Darryl Self officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Springs Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, 9899 Main Street, Ste 204, Damascus, MD 20872. The family of Micheal wishes to thank the staff of OU Medical Center, Peggy and Charles Stephenson, OK Cancer Center and Midwest City Regional Medical Center.
