Odie Mae Gonzales, 81, of Stilwell, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 10, 2017.
Born on May 10, 1936 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late French Scraper and Jennie Beaver Scraper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Gonzales, her daughter, Denise Yingst, and sons-in law, Philip Yingst and Richard Hawk, and her sisters, Lydia Nofire, Sue Fields, and a brother Bert Scraper.
She is survived by her loving family which are her children, Patricia Hawk , Tahlequah; Betty Scraper, Park Hill, Frank and Velma Gonzales, Stilwell, and Janice and Alonso Avila of Stilwell. Her grandchildren, Rodney Hawk of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rachael Hawk of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kevin and Jamie Rae Gonzales, and Eric and Jessica Gonzales of Stilwell. Her great grandchildren, Whitley Hawk, of Wisconsin, Taylor Hawk, and Shelby Hawk of Oklahoma City, Daysha Hawk and Alayla Delonia of Tahlequah. Tevin Gonzales of Sperry, Oklahoma, Kaylee and Christopher Andy Philip Gonzales of Stilwell and Kraven Gonzales of Colcord, Nohaleigh Locke Gonzales, Keelee Laine Gonzales, and Phoenix Rain Gonzales of Stilwell. Along with many relatives and friends.
Odie served along side her husband, Andy Gonzales, as they served the Lord in several churches. She served in a variety of roles within the church as a Sunday school teacher, WMU officer, and a deaconess. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. Her prayer was that all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren would accept Jesus as their Saviour.
