Patsy Lou (Cochran) Doublehead was born on May 3, 1939, in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Charlie and Maggie (Sam) Cochran. She passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2020, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 9 days.
Pat attended school at Bell, Stilwell and Haskell in Lawrence, Kansas. She married Adam Doublehead on February 4, 1972, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Pat worked for more than 30 years in various departments with Cherokee Nation. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess, Sunday School teacher and WMU Director for many years. She was also a Cherokee First Speaker.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, one son Marland Hogner, four brothers, George, Price, Martin and Tom Cochran, three sisters, Mary Ann McHargue, Corene Wolfe and Gussie Bunch.
She is survived by her husband Adam of the home; one daughter Joie Doublehead of Stilwell, OK; one son David Hogner of Stilwell, OK; 8 grandchildren, Tiffany, Christian and Marley Smith, Taumi and Brent Hogner, April Dickson, Kyp Hummingbird and Kyron Gonzales; 8 great grandchildren including her special baby girl Layla Shyne; 3 brothers, Sanders Cochran of Stilwell, OK, Jerry Cochran and wife Nita of Stilwell, OK, Johnny Cochran and wife Marilyn Cochran of Stilwell, OK; sisters-in-law, Emma Cochran and Neoma Cochran of Stilwell, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends, including special friends Elaine Grigsby and Wanda Brown of Stilwell, OK
