Ray Daugherty

Ray Bearfoot Daugherty the son of Jerry Boss and Jessie (Cunningham) Daugherty was born November 28, 1972 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on September 10, 2018 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 45 years, 9 months and 13 days.

Bear was a soldier and dedicated his life to the Army. He served his country proudly and later returned home to Stilwell. He enjoyed racing and working on race cars and driving them if he got the chance. Watching NasCar was a favorite pastime along with OU Football and the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved listening to music, and the louder the better was his opinion. Taking care of his animals was what he loved to do the most. He would spend all day outside, hot or cold, and make sure they had everything they needed. He especially loved his dogs, man's best friend. He was a joke teller, and every joke he told was funny, at least to him. Bear loved his family; he loved his wife, his kids, his momma and his sisters. He was a very special man to many and touched many lives. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Boss Daugherty.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife Kim Daugherty of the home; his children Sunny Skyhawk Daugherty of Stilwell, Jessica Winterstar Swafford and husband Kyle of Stilwell, Jerri Renae Daugherty of the home and Nancy Alaska Dawn Daugherty of the home; his mother Jessie Pettigrew and husband John of Stilwell; his sisters Winnie Starlight Smith and husband Tim of Stilwell and Winter Fawn Norman and husband Jason of McAlester; his granddaughter Paisley Swafford and one grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Scott Latta officiating. Interment will follow at the Nancy Pritchett Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at hartfuneralhome.net.
