Sam Johnson

Sam Joe Johnson, son of Charley Johnson and Geneva (Still) Johnson, was born August 3, 1949 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and passed from this life on September 6, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 3 days.

Sam attended Zion Grade School and Stilwell High School. After graduation, he continued his education; completing several college courses. He was then called to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces and received an honorable discharge upon completion of his tour of duty.

Sam was an avid reader and a master Cherokee talker, reader and writer. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and he really liked taking road trips. Sam and his nephew competed in turkey shoots and most often returned home with a prize turkey or ham.

Sam was a quiet and patient person and will be remembered as quite a gentleman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Henry, J D, Charley Jr, Denver, Kenny and Leonard Johnson and Richard Byrd; sisters Violet Still, Mary Jane Limore and a baby sister.

Sam leaves behind his wife Linda Sue Johnson of the home; Gator and Crystal of the home and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
