Tommy Lawrance Vardeman, Sr., 83, a resident of Stilwell, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Stilwell Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Dewey, OK., to the late Harry Vardeman and Hiawatha (Keith) Vardeman.
Graveside Service will be 10 AM, Friday, March 15,2024 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, 1423 Cemetery Road Fort Gibson, OK., 74434, with military honors. Pastor Richard Gardner will be officiating. There will be no public viewing.
Tommy proudly served in the United States Army, holding the rank of Private First Class (PFC E-3) from October 1963 to October 1969. He dedicated his life to serving his country and later went on to work as a GM Plant Supervisor, then to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. In his later years, Tommy worked as both a Poultry Farmer and Small Business Owner. His passion for ranch and farm management was undeniable.
Outside of work, Tommy found joy in collecting antiques and valuables, which his grandchildren lovingly referred to as "junk." He cherished spending time with his family and friends, sharing stories and creating lasting memories.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, George Vardeman, Beverly Goodwin, Danny Vardeman, Kenneth (Buddy) Vardeman, and an infant sister.
Survivors include his loving wife, Virginia (Bryan) Vardeman; children: Tammy (Glenn) West, and Tommy L. (Monica) Vardeman Jr., siblings; Joe Vardeman, Robert Vardeman, and Jack Vardeman, grandchildren; Kendall (Jon) Bruner, Cody West, Trey Vardeman, and Luke Vardeman, Elijah McCuistion, great-grandchildren; Chett Bruner, Bexlynn Bruner, and Gideon Bruner, along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and loving friends.
