William Ketcher

September 19, 1951 — May 25, 2018

William Lee Ketcher was born on September 19, 1951 at the old Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Tem and Evelyn (Hogner) Ketcher. He ended his journey on earth on May 20, 2018, in Stilwell, Oklahoma after a tough battle with cancer.

William graduated from Compton High School in Compton, California in 1969. He attended welding school and was a skilled welder. When he relocated to Stilwell he was a lead welder on many projects in the Eastern Oklahoma area including the stockyard in Siloam Springs. He was mechanically inclined and would give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He fixed many cars and blew up a few too!

William was proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His children are Athena Ketcher, Tustin, CA, Julia (David) Pointer Sherills Ford, NC, Shannon (Gerhard Maale) Pearce Dallas, TX, Levi Ketcher, Tahlequah, OK, and Briana (Dominic Washington) Ketcher, Weatherford, OK.

His grandchildren are Steven, Tyler and Marissa Arias, Ayden Nix, Benjamin, Chloe and Claire Pointer, Tanner Alberty and Madelyn Melencamp. His great-grandchildren are Devynn Riesgo and Remy Chavez.
William loved hanging with his brothers and nephews and playing chess. William enjoyed reading about his favorite sport teams. William followed sports of all kinds, particularly OU and the Oklahoma City Thunder but maintained a deep loyalty to West Coast teams, especially UCLA, the Lakers, and the Dodgers. William had a propensity to make any sporting event more interesting with a good wager. He played the ponies, liked going to the casino and playing cards. He was athletic in his younger days and played a lot of basketball and could throw a football 70 yards. William raised pigeons as a young man as well as later in life.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, mother Evelyn Hart, Westville, OK; brother Dennis "DK" (Astrid Aberg) Ketcher, Stilwell, OK; sisters Carolyn (Marc) Bluestone, New Town, ND; Joycelyn Debler, Westville, OK; Patricia (Paul Ghezzo) Lippert, Altadena, CA and his beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by father Tem Ketcher Sr., his brother Tem Ketcher Jr., paternal grandparents William and Lula Catcher, and maternal grandparents Levi and Belle Hogner.
William will be loved and forever missed by his family, relatives, friends and his fur-friend Mia.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Joey Ketcher and Bro. Chuck Glass officiating. Interment will follow at Piney Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
