Johnnye Smith

Johnnye Marie Smith the daughter of John and Jewel (Bigby) Hill was born December 12, 1927, in Watts, Oklahoma and departed this life on July 13, 2020, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 1 day.

Johnnye Marie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She graduated from Stilwell High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northeastern State University. She taught mostly in Baxter Springs, KS. She enjoyed raising greyhounds for a while before selling out and buying an RV. She and her late husband then took to the road and traveled across the country together. She enjoyed reading and working at different RV parks. Johnny Marie touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry Loring Smith; her daughter Suelita Smith; her brother Roy Cotton Hill and her sister Leta Mae Dawson.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her sons John David Smith of Broken Arrow and Michael Loring Smith and wife Debbie of Marion, AR; her brothers Jerry Bob Hill of Stilwell, and Joe Hill and wife June of Stilwell; her sister Janice Sue Hart of Jenks; her sister-in-law Margaret Hill of Stilwell; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
