Mary Burgess

Funeral services for Mary Burgess the daughter of Allen and Jessie (Scraper) Unger was born July 23, 1940 in Clemmons Falls, Oregon and departed this life to be with the Lord on November 22, 2017 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years and 4 months.

Mary enjoyed life and loved serving the Lord. She enjoyed going to church and was a founding member of the Christian Worship Center in Stilwell. Her hobbies included crocheting, camping and especially traveling. She was gifted with words and enjoyed journaling and was the "Voice" of her church. Many others knew her through her weekly newspaper article, "Come On, Let's Eat". Earl gladly served as her official taste tester for all her recipes. Mary touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Sherman Clyde Unger.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her husband Earl Burgess of the home; sister-in-law Evie May Burgess of Stilwell; her adopted children, Dexter Workman and wife Nora of Stilwell; nephew Leroy Burgess of Windfield, KS; niece Diane Holman of Ponca City, OK; grandson Chad Workman of Stilwell. Several great nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.Mary Burgess will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday November 29, 2017 at the Christian Worship Center with Bro. Marty Jones and Bro. Wiley Lovejoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Honey Hill Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
