Shirley Gregory

Shirley Sue Gregory, the daughter of Jennings and Oleta (Acorn) Raleigh, was born December 10, 1948 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and passed from this life on September 16, 2022 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 6 days.

Shirley graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor's degree and worked as an accountant. Then in later years she continued her accounting career and also taught math for the Crawford County adult education. Shirley was an intelligent lady who loved to learn and used that passion to teach others. She was proud of her Cherokee heritage and enjoyed learning the Cherokee language. She was considered "The Boss" and took care of everyone and everything. She enjoyed reading books. Her favorite flowers were carnations and her favorite color was blue. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother Oleta Raleigh, maternal grandmother Lavina Showalter, maternal great grandmother Margaret Dobbs, brother Basil Raleigh, nephews Kevin Brewer and Jason Raleigh and niece Brittany Brewer.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband Johnny Darrell Gregory of the home in Tahlequah, her father Jennings Raleigh of Stilwell; son Brian Raleigh and wife Sandra of Springdale, AR, daughter Nicole Eagle and fiancee Randy Decker of Tahlequah, OK, sons Michael Gregory and wife Reggie of Tulsa, OK, Jon Gregory and wife Noreen of Stilwell, Larry Gregory and wife Missy of Siloam Springs, AR; sisters Phyllis Black-Estrada and husband Angel of Stilwell and Debbie Brewer and husband Boyd of Mulberry, AR; brother Bill Raleigh and wife Loretta of Mulberry, AR; grandchildren Dylan Hendricksen, Bradley Cole, Reese Gregory, Audra and Darrell Gregory, Rylan Gregory, Jobi Lipkovitch and Kelsey Farragher; great grandchildren Kenley Farragher, Julian Lipkovitch and George Vernon Gregory; her in-laws who were like her siblings Vivian "Pee Wee" Bledsoe, Travis and Mary Gregory all of Stilwell, Christine Feeling, Dorothy Foster and Lois Littlejohn all of Tahlequah. Many other relatives, friends and loved ones also survive her.
