Vernile “Babe” Girdner, age 77, passed away on October 4, 2020 at her home in Cookson, OK. She was born on April 3, 1943, in Bunch, OK to parents Eliza Jane (Glass) Hallmark and Bill Girdner. Vernile was a proud Cherokee Native American. She loved her family, friends and pets with all her heart. She loved to do any type of crafting but especially quilting. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, cooking, picking wild onions and poke salad. She always had her sidekicks with her Raven and Puttie, both small dogs who thought they were ten foot tall protectors. She was always happy to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to visit with her friends and neighbors. Her favorite thing to do was visit the “gathering place” Cherokee Casino. She said that is where she can see people from all over. A game of Farkle was always welcome and she was competitive.
